News
news news... oh so many news in this Zzap!Raine issue - I
don't know where to start from.
I'll begin introducing our two new staff members. The former
has already introduced himself in our message board: he's
Lee Bolton, webmaster of a site devoted to retrogaming,
Peek'n'Poke,
and he even worked as reviewer in the very last issue of
Zzap!64 (March 2002, issue 107 - click on the pic to visit the
site and download the free PDF version). The latter is named
Talas, and he's located in Germany. He'll participate
as a reviewer for Raine arcade games, and 8-16 bit home
computer games.
Yep, you read it right: I said 8 and 16 bit! A brand new
section opens, named Zzap!Test: it is a real magazine
within another magazine, having its editorial and reviews of
games released for all those golden computers coming from the
Eighties. The logical link to this magazine is simple: we'll
review computer versions of arcade videogames emulated by
Raine. This issue you'll read fantastic reviews of Rainbow
Islands and Super Space Invaders (aka
Majestic-12), which arcade versions were rewiewed in
Zzap!Raine issue 1.
Videogames will be tested on C64 and other golden
grandfathers as ZX Spectrum, MSX, Amstrad CPC, Amiga and even
Atari ST, so much beloved by Tux - in order to make almost
everyone happy heh!
Now let's talk about this issue's reviews. For the first time
in our history, we reviewed a sports game: Hit the Ice.
Also reviewed a super-classic shooter, Terra Cresta, a
platformer: Rodland and finally a good puzzle-game:
Puzznic. This should satisfy all sorta videoplayers!
Have fun and...
... Happy zzapping.
