A
new year and a new Zzap!Raine issue. And this is the
"usual" special issue with one single review and the
return of the Blast from the Past articles.
I'm now going back in time, thinking about the first
Zzap!Raine issue, when the team was made by three only people,
then other guys joined in. I would never figure out such a
situation when at the beginning of this all... the mag was
just thought as a joke, we couldn't figure that most
emulation/videogaming sites would mention the release of each
new issue (I take the chance to thank Twisty at
Mameworld).
Now I remember... it was a cold December morning when I
fancied to build an Internet site devoted to my favourite
emulator, RAINE, featuring videogames reviews and ratings. So
I guessed how it would be if I'd try to bring the good ol'
Zzap!64 back to life, with a new graphics restyiling.
Thanks to the contribution of Liliana and RoyJ,
I finally made it: Zzap!Raine was alive. We spent so many
nights playing and testing videogames, then a
"dark age" came, as it often happens in most
no-profit websites... no time to play, no time to write, no
time to complete new issues.
Then came MADrigal, and everything went back to normality,
with new sections, articles and people joining our staff.
...now stop with all of this nostalgia, let's jump into this
special issue!
This month's review and cover are dedicated to Truxton
II, great shoot'em up made by Toaplan on Taito
hardware, and also published by Taito. This Blast from the
Past is quite peculiar, id doesn't fit the serious scheme
as the previous chapters... you should read it in order to
understand what I mean eh! The story speaks of the birth of a
legendary videogame: Bubble Bobble.
Happy birthday Zzap!Raine.
